Fill the cup with hot water with a liberal dollop of Carb Soda. Let it stand at least overnight. You might need to do it a couple of times, depending on how strong the smell is.

how did the smell get in there?
Is the cup china?
What do people who live in China call their good dinner set?

I could send you one of my 20 yr old son's unwashed soccer socks to stuff i/side your cup......he just got home for uni hols......sock been worn 2x a week for at least 4 weeks for training and matches-unwashed btwn each session/match. Kept in soccer boot i/side sports bag.
I cannot find words to actually describe the smell but I can guarantee that one of these socks it will totally eradicate any mint scent-probably knock you out in the process though
