How do you clean your windows?

OK it's a job I loathe but it has to be done .... I have a massive window in my sunroom what's the best way to clean it, that doesn't take long or leaves smears/smudges?

I have tried every single one of the window cleaning sprays on the market that purport to leave no streaks, and every single one of them does, without exception. Ditto with mirrors. I haven't as yet tried the tap water/vinegar method but I have filled a spray bottle in readiness.

Cleaning windows/mirrors ? My anathema.

Speaking as a substitute custodian, id say find something in the wet room to clean them, But as a stitcher opperator, i'd say get your assistant to do it.

My SIL reckons a wet microfibre cloth followed by a dry microfibre cloth leaves a streak free clean.

Methylated spirit and tissues.  If it is very dirty I would wipe it first with damp cloth not worrying about streaks.  Then clean with meth and change the tissues as they get too dirty.

 Please don't use newspaper - it's unhygienic and if it gets wet, the ink can run and create smears on the glass.

If the window hasn't been cleaned for quite some time, use wet Viva paper towels to wipe off any built-up residue. (Do not use any other paper towel for the job as it won't be strong enough) When this is done, spray with Windex and leave it for several minutes while you do a preliminary clean of the other side of the glass. Come back to the sprayed section and use a non-scratch sponge and scrub using circular motions. Clean off the residue with a ton of paper towels until shiney. (rags don't work as well)  Repeat on other side. Don't wear plastic gloves as it will smudge the glass.
