How do you convience someone not to smoke?

For someone like me, it's hard getting by in this world. Seems like most everyone smokes and thats the one thing that actually causes me great pain to be around. Not to mention great pain when I lose a friend or family to Cancer from it.

I'd love it if my dad would quit smoking, I'm sure it would give me more time before losing him, I can see the signs of maybe losing him soon, like mom.

But the reason for this topic is I was asked out on a date, I'm almost sure this man is going to be a smoker as well. That would be a dealbreaker for sure, but It's nice to think that a guy can be attracted to me and might be fun to do something I've only ever done with one other person, who also smoked back in the mid 90s. I'll have to find a tactfull way to let him know it just couldn't work, Kissing a smoker would certainly have me puking all over him, I get that sick around it.

One of the biggest problems with smoking is that it not only effects the health of the smoker but can effect those around them.
But the addicted will only give up when they are ready not when someone else wants them to.

I'm a smoker of 15 years, I pay ridiculously high prices for a packet and why should anyone try and convince anyone to quit? I pay the money, I know what possible effects that it could have but that's my right. Maybe focus on the overweight who eat too much - that will kill you as well. Smokers know the risk - um derr 

Heres the thing with that, if it was just you affected, subjected to your own smoke, I would say "it's your funeral, have at it". But your smoking don't stay with only you. Least not unless you lock yourself into an airtight room. Your harmfull smoke hurts others who breathe it, be it in the same area, or nearby, the wind on a windy day, fans in public laundrymats pulling air in to cool the place. We can't not breathe, we need that air but it's so poluted with the stuff. Even here at the shelter a few minutes ago, I could detect it and now am in agonoy with a towel over my face.

Those who eat too much are not forcing others to get overweight. Their food don't float in the air and find it's way into my lungs.

Wouldn't you know it?, lol, the guy called and cancled due to having a cold. I asked him if he smoked, he say yoe he does. I said I couldn't be around that and shut himdown on any future endevers. So now I'm sitting here at the Y looking very nice if I do say so myself.

What to do what to do. Thrift store shopping?. Can't really go into the sona like this lol.. yes Ima hit the thrifts. later all, Fly is 5,000
