It's hubby's birthday today and he loves trifle, so I am goong to make a small one.
I have jam roll cake, sliced peaches, custard, jelly and cream. Oh and some plonk.
What order do you layer the stuff in the bowl in?

Dwilke, your recipe is great for individual trifles.
Here is another for a large glass bowl.
Cake/jam/brandyplonk/fruit/custard/ do that again, and top with whipped cream. I like to put rasberries on the top of the whipped cream.
I had to look up what Plonk meant. I had a feeling it was alcohol. 😉
Happy Birthday to Mister Pimpy

There is no right or wrong way.................... my nana always said "it will all be going down the same throat, so it won't matter what's on top"

Do you think my Irish Waterford Crystal bowl would be suitable?

I do the cake, booze, fruit or berries, jelly, custard and then berries on top with some chocolate curls.
I don't use cream on mine.

That bowl is beautiful!

Yep sure is, just dusted and washed it and stole the photo from Google images.
Can't use it for tcm's recipe though. It's too big for the given recipe.

Beautiful bowl! however, the best ones are straight sided bowls.

Very beautiful indeed.
But
Not big enough - what about seconds - and thirds.
