I was chatting to a friend from Adelaide tonight who is selling her house in a beachside suburb (Semaphor Beach?). Shes about a block away from the waters edge so I thought she'd get a few mill. (I'm from Sydney lol!).
But she reckons she'll be happy to hit the $500,000 mark.
I can't imagine a house so close to the city and so close to the water selling for that price but then again, being from Sydney, I am a little skewed when it comes to real estate.
So what do you think is a fair price to pay for a house 10km from the CBD?
(Perhaps mention where you are from when you answer - it might put your response into perspective)

Does sound a bargain for over looking the beach..maybe houses are slow to sell here at the moment, nobody has got the big $$ so sellers aren't getting as much as they would like. Easts Beach is beautiful.

Yep - we camp at Easts every Christmas. 😄
Now we can watch her swanning around in her house while we swelter in the caravan. :^O

It all about the area, I live in a good area and I'm looking at my home to a mill.

How far from the CBD and in what states are you in Crystal and Grizz?

Taking into consideration what ours cost being approx 20k from Sydney CBD, it would have to be around 1mln. A friend of mine bought a house in Burwood for 900k about 6yrs ago...

Semaphor Beach is quite nice. An old area near Port Adelaide with interesting buildings.

I have visited her a few times karli. That's why I was so surprised the house was worth so little (relatively).

You're probably on plenty of acres. Imagine if you have that land in around the city.
Most areas cost at least half a mil just for the land alone.
