I have specified 'inside' dog, as I imagine that people who have their dog inside would wash them more often than dogs that are outside.
I wash Fred on the weekend UNLESS he gets himself into a terrible mess (he loves to lie down in muddy puddles). In between I will wash his paws if required and I have a towel at his dog door to wipe his paws on when he comes inside.
Today my friend told me she washes her TWO INSIDE dogs only once a month!
All I could think of was GROTTY!!!!!!
Fred is an inside dog, and apart from his walks/runs, he spends most of his time inside. Sometimes he goes outside to sniff around, bathroom, lay in the sun in summer.
So I think once a week is reasonable!
How often do you wash your 'inside' dogs?
Fred is also a long haired maltese X and does not drop hair at all.

only when they get smelly.
but they are short haired
they also sometimes clean themselves like cats.
and they both like to chase the water out of the end of the hose.

Is everyone's dog washed inside yet?

Is everyone's dog washed inside yet?
judging by the smell that emanated from the backyard today, my dogs insides are well and truly clean

I have a toy poodle. He is clipped and washed every six weeks. Poodles have wool. They do not smell body wise but dogs with bad teeth can have an odour. Our poodle doesn't drop hair (wool).
Suffice to say, my first dog (a border collie x) was washed every week as I thought this was the "norm". Found out from the Vets that it strips their coat and skin.
Yes Zac is an inside doggie, wouldn't have it any other way ๐
