How's Kaos Going?

Distressed officers are hoping their beloved veteran police dog will not die after being stabbed in the neck by an alleged car thief.

Officers were called to a terrace in Gordon Park, in Brisbane's north, about 1:30am after a suspected stolen car was spotted in the area.

When police arrived, three people were arrested at the scene, but two men, aged 21 and 24, fled.

Police dog Kaos and his handler ran after the pair and tracked them down 15 minutes later, hiding out two streets away.

During the arrest, one of the men allegedly stabbed Kaos in the neck with a 12-centimetre knife, making a large wound.

The seven-year-old German shepherd was kept alive at the scene by his long-term handler, who is said to be extremely upset over the incident.

Kaos underwent surgery at a vet clinic and was in a stable but critical condition.

On Sunday afternoon, a Queensland Police spokesperson said Kaos was out of surgery and "recovering nicely".

"He is up and about, however he remains in a serious condition," the spokesperson said.

"All support is given to his handler at this time."

Wonder if he'll go back into service?

Re: How's Kaos Going?

Glad that Kaos is doing ok and the handler is being looked after.

I hope the person who did this is well looked after also (note tongue firmly placed in cheek)
