Humans are NOT to blame for global warming, says Greenpeace co-founder, as he insists there is 'no scientific proof' climate change is manmade
There is no scientific proof of man-made global warming and a hotter earth would be ‘beneficial for humans and the majority of other species’, according to a founding member of environmental campaign group Greenpeace.
The assertion was made by Canadian ecologist Patrick Moore, a member of Greenpeace from 1971 to 1986, to U.S senators on Tuesday.
He told The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee: ‘There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years.
If there were such a proof it would be written down for all to see. No actual proof, as it is understood in science, exists.’
Moore pointed out that there was an Ice Age 450million years ago when CO2 was 10 times higher
He said: ‘There is some correlation, but little evidence, to support a direct causal relationship between CO2 and global temperature through the millennia.
The fact that we had both higher temperatures and an ice age at a time when CO2 emissions were 10 times higher than they are today fundamentally contradicts the certainty that human-caused CO2 emissions are the main cause of global warming.’
Even if the earth does warm up, Moore claims that it will be to the advantage of humans and other forms of life, as ‘humans are a tropical species’.
He said: ‘It is extremely likely that a warmer temperature than today’s would be far better than a cooler one.’
Humans, he added, just aren’t capable of predicting global temperature changes.
Moore said that he left Greenpeace because it ‘took a sharp turn to the political left’.

And yet, once again, the deniers cannot explain the ocean level increases that are forcing Pacific Islanders to leave their homelands, the shrinking ice sheets in the Antarctic, and the vanishing glaciers..........

Pollution causes global warming, people make pollution more than any other animal in this planet's history. Global warming does not mean that the planet is getting hotter, in fact, it can trigger an ice age. There's more to global warming than just carbon dioxide. These are not only well documented facts, but something anyone should be able to see in their every day life. Go outside and look around, if you can't see it in your area, then your lucky to live in such a clean place. I see so much of it here, that when I close my eyes to sleep, I see it, visions of cigeratte butts along the roadsides and parking lots, beer cans, oil leaks from cars, smog. Naa, I suppose all these things are good for you and we need more.
I give up, car exhaust is good for you, we should breathe carbon monoxide every day, Who needs oxygen? that stuff is poison, it's one of the main things that keeps fires burning. We are living a long time, like 60 years old for most in my family, thats plenty of time, and our children should be happy with all the c02 and other fine stuff floating around in the air.
Post evidence that proves your statement...... not theories...... evidence.

Ocean levels have changed for billions of years.
Islands change, all continents move....and have been doing so for billions of years.
Glaciers melt and then reform....and?....... Where some glaciers have receded, they are exposing tree stumps....
Proof that Forrests were destroyed by the glaciers.
Natural cycles.... nothing to be alarmed about.

Naa, I agree with you, pollution is good, and we don't need oxygen. The tobacco companies say smoking is healthy and why would they lie? Theres nothing that makes me feel refreshed and healthy like breathing in exhaust fumes for about an hour or so. More people should try it.

Your right, those are natural events over the corse of millions of years, doesn't matter that no human has ever seen it. The dinosours probibly seen it, but I can't find any of them around to ask. I'll bet they liked it though. It's gonna happen anyway right?, so we may as well speed it along. In another 4 and a half billion years the sun is gonna collapse into the earth anyway, so what does it matter?

Can't prove man made c02 causes Global Warming?.......There aren't any alarmists who can.....lol....
Tobacco?..... relevance?
Scientists believe the impact theory (meteor) killed the dinosaurs....again.....relevance?
Natural events do occur over Millions of years....correct. Natural events also occur over billions of years...or just short periods of time.
Consider that there was a little Ice Age between 1350 - 1850..... The Earth has been naturally coming out of that period from 1850.
Alarmists conveniently like to start their graphs at 1850......lol.

If ocean levels have changed for billions of years, why is it only in recent history that levels have increased? Coral Islands tend to grow, not sink, and those in question are nowhere near tectonic activity.

Do you really expect ocean levels and islands to not change?...... Our environment changes everyday.

I see you still do not understand the Scientific Method SRBA. However as you do not comprehend the sciences (and protocols) involved within this debate topic , consider this:
"science doesn’t “prove” theories. Scientific measurements can only disprove theories or be consistent with them. Any theory that is consistent with measurements could be disproved by a future measurement"
I would explain the atmospheric physics here, but as you do not appreciate the root cause of weather, temperature differential, not pressure systems, It would be a waste of time.
However, here is a very basic lesson:
CO2 is a greenhouse gas, its atmospheric concentration is steadily increasing, in fact at an increasing rate, scientists theorise that this will cause a global warming trend and measurements ( datasets) show a consistency with the theory
"Alarmists conveniently like to start their graphs at 1850......lol."
Chuckle would be suitable, considering that you love to introduce aspects that commence from the very warm El Nino year of 1998.
However produce some graphs of your own (lol) and don't forget "trend period".
I nearly forgot : why do temperature records so often commence in the mid eighteen hundreds? Because that is when modern records began !
