I Belong to a Unique

I have just confirmed a Christmas Luncheon for this week at the restaurant we had it at last year.

The waitress told me that the staff remembered us from last year as we were such a unique group.

Perhaps if you remember to "tip" the staff this year you'll be forgotten about next year.Smiley Very Happy

Seriously, do you know why she said that your group was so memorable?

Yes its because we were the first group to arrange a traditional  Christmas lunch (Ham , turkey and roast veggies and Christmas Pudding) but more so because we were all over 70 years of age.   We were enjoying ourselves and the staff joined in the festivities and they were enjoying themselves as much as we did.

Re: I Belong to a Unique

Actually, the restaurant owner has observed what customers like to hear.  That the group was unique.  Showed an interest in them as people.

Insurance agents years ago, used to have a card file that recorded: wife's name, kid's name, birthdays, etc as he "ran into them" just prior to renewal time.

An architect used to illustrate the family dog and/or cat in the drawings to show he cared about his client.

Make it personal and let them feel special.

Then accept their hard earned cash; with an extended  invitation to see you again next year/time.

That's business acumen; especially for a cut throat marketplace.

How wonderful.  Smiley Very Happy

Teach the young uns that we can still laugh and have a good time as we mature.

Did the same yesterday with my siblings.  The "babies" around us learnt how to engage, laugh, etc. without a "selfie, text message, or photo of the meal".
