There was a time - quite a while ago - when students fortunate enough to have a salami sandwich packed into their lunchboxes would hide it, fearful of racial profiling by dimwit bullies.
Now they throw them at prime ministers, and it's the dimwits doing the tossing.
The latest fashion for sandwich throwing began modestly enough a few weeks ago when a student frisbeed a Vegemite sandwich - the choice of bogans, you might suppose - at Prime Minister Julia Gillard while she was visiting Marsden State High School, south of Brisbane.
