why are McDonalds putting in touch screen cashiers (Forest Lake Qld)?
I don't go there often I admit, but when I do I prefer to pay cash.
I LOVE CASH!!
BRING BACK CASH FOR US OLDIES!!
And don't get me on to those self service checkouts......

I told kmart here in NZ that I refuse to use their machines, if there is no cashier I will not buy, taking jobs when jobs are few.
I dont use them in the Super market either.

That's what I read too. If you want their regular burgers and stuff you still go to the regular counter apparently.

Katy-tried twice to post a funny story about recovering a dollar coin from
a supermarket trolley--went off the air both times and not bothering anymore.

I like touch screens/self -serve checkouts.
While I would rather stores employed humans, technology is here and advancing all the time and we aren't going to go back to the old ways.
I used a self serve checkout at Aust Post the other day to buy some prepaid envelopes.. long queue of people waiting for counter service ( lots of PO services you do need to go to counter) . 2 self-serve checkouts no queue. Me - in and out of there in a flash.

That would probably work out quite good. Because sometimes when you give your order to the staff member, they get it all wrong!
I think they have had some of them in Sydney for awhile.

I'm totally with you there. When I shop I like to get in and out as quickly as possible and I find self serve checkouts are usually way faster than standing in a frustrating queue.

I like that idea, especially the choice in cheeses.
But can anyone tell me how they get the yolk to stay in the centre of the egg like that while it's cooking?

special breed of chickens - McChickens - they lay already fried eggs.
