"Tony Abbott the Opposition Leader struggled for words while in Afghanistan with the Australian Army last October...
after saying "s--- happens""
I doubt many in the military or who were there with him were worried about that. You try to minimise it but it does happen.
"Gallows humor" is what happens in the miltary.
"S..... happens" is exactly what happens, you have to keep moving on and forward.

So what ?
Not nearly as embarrassing as Germaine Greer saying it on National TV and the panel laughing.
Give her a hard time and I might listen to you.
Because others keep complaing about others criticising Abbott, even calling mild cartoons from daily msm newspapers offensive!, and they take no note of those that criticise ex Labor MP's in current threads?
Can't you see the hypocrisy that?
Why (speaking generally not at you) complain only about criticisms of one parties PM, but at the same time engage in and encourage open slather of a different party's PM (or ex PM)?
Both is fine by me, but that doesn't appear to be the case for Abbott fans. I only pointed out the Gillard name calling, to those that won't hear a bad word said about TA.

Many don't share your opinion. It was the silence afterwards that was incomprehensible.
I am sure people who were close to the deceased, didn't consider it 'humor'.

1. People that don't like Tony Abbott - images tell a story. At least they are images of the person who the topic of the thread is about.
or
2. People that do like Tony Abbott- not many of them, but they could make a better effort to prove their love of TA by pointing out what they like about him, rather than talking about JG all the time...

Don't be too harsh Julia, they are doing their best.Yes I know that it falls short, but what else can anyone expect?

No, I don't think you do. It would require reading back a few pages to understand. It wasn't Am 3
yes it was. it was am*3 who initially
brought it up.
she wanted to know who it was that
repeatedly refers to the ex pm's **bleep**.
in response, idlwhile mentioned greer -
you then claimed greer never said it

Abbott is not in the military. He is not required to speak in those terms, but his high office does require him to demonstrate some quality in his remarks and some respect for dead soldiers and their families.
