Northam escapee still on the run after two weeks
A Vietnamese detainee who escaped a WA immigration detention centre two weeks ago has still not been found.
The man was one of two detainees to escape from Northam's Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre, 100 kilometres east of Perth, on the night of December 27.
Efforts were continuing to find the escapee and detention services provider Serco will investigate the circumstances of the escape, a spokesman for Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said.
Senior Sergeant Mal Ward said Northam police will no longer be actively involved in the manhunt.

It's starting to funnel through now, I just found this
Three more people have escaped from an immigration detention centre in Northam
Three detainees escape from Northam
kind of lends support to offshore processing, eh?

I mean the Herald Sun link
and it says 5 (not 4) ...with one being found
so that would be 4 missing

and now we have to spend resources to investigate how they escaped... That annoys me. That's time and money that could be spent processing applicants. The purpose of asylum is for safety. They are provided with safety and then abuse it.
there is one from a few weeks ago who has still not been found.
He's somewhere running around in Australia.

one report says that there is now only one missing (plus the one from a few weeks ago, plus the ones from August)
they have "located" two today, but are still looking for the third.

Think they were spotted washing windscreens earlier.
