As we all know, in most movies based on a book the film-makers take a few liberties with the original story - but this goes WAY BEYOND a few liberties.
Whether you believe the Bible is the word of God or not - in this case the movie bears only very fleeting resemblance to the original story. I mean there is an Ark, a guy named Noah, some animals and lots of water and there's where the similarity ends.

the only ones who have been highly critical of the movie
are the young earth creationists.
overall the reaction has been postive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noah_%282014_film%29
"If you like 'Braveheart,' 'Gladiator,' 'Star Wars,' 'The Lord of The Rings,' 'Indiana Jones,' or 'Titanic,' you will like 'Noah.' If you like two or more of the above, you will love 'Noah.
sounds like a good movie.

All the above named movies were not based on a story in the Bible.
I was very disapointed.

if you were expecting a bible story to be retold
i dont think thats what it was intended for.
i remember watching an interview with russel crowe who
said it was about our relationship with the earth/animals etc.
if you want a bible story you might like "son of god"
which was at the movies recently.

sorry to revive this old thread but I have been a little busy lately, as some of you may know.
The Watchers - who were they supposed to be? The way I saw the movie I think they were supposed to be the fallen angels - the ones that 'forsook their true dwelling place in the heavens' and came down to earth as men because they wanted to experience mating with the women - is that right?
God turned them into giant stone monsters - is that right?
These watchers then pulled up all the trees and built the ark for Noah?
Then they faught off the 'baddies' who attacked the ark?
When each one was killed, God forgave them and they ascended to heaven??
Noah only had 2 sons, one of whom was only a child?
There was a stowaway in the ark, who ate most of the animals - there ya go - that explains where the dinosaurs went - he ate them.
During the time on the ark, Noah tried repeatedly to kill everyone because he was convinced that God wanted mankind to die out?
Then Noah's eldest son sired a baby who was born on the ark and, after ecaping from being murdered by Noah, he became one of the 8 survivors?
There is a lot more of course, but I cannot remember anything else.

Yea, GC.
But with all that practice with H2O - he is now 'The Water Divine' (r)- yea, right.
Not bad looking and says he is sensitive.

Good on you for giving it a go rabbits..
Me ? I'm still dirty about Noah leaving the unicorns behind.
In case no-one has noticed, not a religious bone in my body, but I have much respect for those that do (and keep it to themselves).
Carry on

All good & fine - but Bill Cosby is still trying to find out what a 'cubit' is.
Old BC comedy.

Perhaps all the unicorns were eaten also? .....
No wait! ... they were tossed overboard out of the ark and then evolved exquisitely quickly into >>>>>>>
Yes ..... the narwhal ... yes yes, that's it!!
