One pushy American mother sent out a rather demanding list ahead of her child's first birthday party - and the details of her gift requests have gone viral after one recipient posted the email on Reddit. (Read the note in full at the end of the article.)
While asking for four specific items from a certain side of the family, the unnamed mum makes it quite clear that deviations from this list will not be met gratefully.
She requests a water table, a play tent, a play tunnel, and a book, writing: "If you are unable to get these items, please let us know so we can buy them right away for him."
Thinking of getting something not on the list?
"Please be sure to always include a receipt going forward," the mum writes. "When we return items without receipts, we only get about 50 per cent of the value, so it's like throwing away money if you don't include a receipt with the gifts.

WOW I never knew this...
'Clothing with names is the #1 thing that leads to kidnapping, so we dont need to broadcast ......... name on clothing and toys'
huh...I might need to take time to think about that.
Nah, I dont.

It's not the 1 thing that leads to kidnap but it is not recommended because it does make it easy for an unknown person to confuse a child by pretending they are known to them because they know their name. When someone calls a child by name the child will assume that person knows them rather than assume that person is reading the name on the front of their top or on their hat.

Gross.
Dear mom, and one year old baby,
I bought you an ettiquette book. Don't worry about the receipt, as I book it at a garage sale.
Happy Birthday.

"With formula costing us $80 a week, it is always nice to be able to return items that he doesn't need to get formula instead."
It's wrong they want receipts for gifts so they can get refunds and exchange gifts for baby formula as that is expensive (they say)... so people giving gifts are expected to fund their child's food source?
What do they want all those fancy toys for if they don't want to fund their own child's needs for baby formula?
