My tip......... youtube! but also, use little clips for hemming prep....... google wonder clips but you can also use those silver hair clips or paper clips. Better than pins.
Use a walking foot (even feed foot), if you have one, for thicker fabrics like jeans.
I also learned recently that you should read the machine manual and use the correct presser foot for each job!
Finally, quilting is easier than clothing......... it's all straight lines. ๐
I invested in a 1/4" presser foot and everything is very accurate.

I still have to hem the sides of my sheer continuous ones in the bedroom................ far too boring to contemplate! Only I notice them though.

I did some sewing-fix it jobs yesterday. It was so cold and heavy rain, no alternative to staying inside. Have one sewing job left.

What about using that hem fusing that comes in a small roll that you iron on?
Then you can handsew the hem more easily, with a running stitch..??

Or take garments that need hemming to the alteration booths in malls etc and pay someone to do a good job. I can sew but prefer an experienced person to take hems up on new trousers.
