I'm on a diet who wants to join me?

I started this diet Friday 22/08/14

The focus of this diet is to replace bread with ryvita crackers and drinks with plain water + lemon. The main food is dry beans which are soaked for 8 hours then cooked for 30min sometimes up to 1hr depends on bean. Then coated with a touch of vinegar and lemon. Then eat.  I soak beans every night for the next day.

The diet goes like this:

Monday                 BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Tuesday               BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Wednesday          BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Thursday              BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Friday                    BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

At lunch I sometimes add grilled fish to break the boredom or tuna.

CHEAT DAYS:

Saturday               BREAKFAST eggs on toast with coffee,  LUNCH:  Eat anything,   DINNER: Eat anything except bread

Sunday                 Basically same as Saturday but a bit less norti.

So far my waisteline is about 4 inches less and getting slimmer in the face.

My weight was 130kg - my target is 95kg.    Lets see how far I get. LOL

Join in if you want and post your results.

Eat less and excercise more. That's the only way to lose weight. It's a hard row to hoe but remember the no pain, no gain philosophy?

Well, it's true. and one of the hardest things to face up to is that if you eat more calories than you burn off through work, then you will gain weight.

On the up-side, the converse is also true. 🙂

UFO . . .  diets don't work because if or when a person loses weight then they congratulate themselves and then just go back to their old eating habits and the weight comes back, often with a vengeance. Dieting causes weight gain .

What is needed is not a short-term diet, but a radical life-long change in eating habits and excercise habits.

For a real and sustained weight loss, what is required is to change one's habits. It's not for a short time only folks; it's a life-long commitment. Sorry, but there is no other way.

Yes you are right. A lifetime of commitment is required to maintain. My plan is to do this until I reach my goal of 95kg but then that wont mean I will go back to takeaway burgers and pizza everyweek. Once I reach that I will stick to the 80/20 rule. I will eat like this 80% of the time basically and exercise. I'm only doing this to break the fat and the inches and it seems to be working.

Congrats on that weight loss. I've lost weight before but put it back on, this time is different I'm on a mission.  Today I've been eating off-the-chart, not cheating just following it as if it were Monday. 😉

Put some chilli in those beans - it speeds up the metabolism

And at least make 'em taste a bit better

Yeap chilli is good for metabolism. I've been putting apple cider vinegar (organic). I don't mind the taste of that but I will try the chilli and see. Thx.

i did the yoyo thing for several years, until i learned, like someone(iapetus,i think?) said, that i had to change my eating lifestyle instead.

bread ,and gravy, those are still my downfalls, lol! i could live on bread and gravy!!

and i do occasionally binge on them,i admit. but mostly i'm good. one thing i learned is that if you completely deny yourself, you do end up binging when you hit a plateau.

so now,i allow myself to eat both,in moderation.
