I met another amazing person today.

Campbell Newman......

He has come to Bundaberg many times since the floods along with Tony Abbott... KRudd is yet to visit once... and since Rudd did not sign off on a lot of relief  money he probably won't be well received if he does visit.

Anyway.. back to Mr Newman.... he has made some fantastic changes for our region and today he made a big announcement today that will create 500 jobs for the area...

I was very impressed with Mr Newman and feel very happy that my vote went to such an amazing man.

And for those that want to cry about the cuts I suggest you all look at the latest stats and see how much QLD has grown in the last 12 or so months. Jobs and growth are above and beyond what the rest of the countries growth has been.

Iza, I doubt any reference to the common law right of a husband to the estate and property of his deceased wife was intentional.

I am just pointing that out to you as a courtesy Smiley Happy

I have often wondered though why some posters change ids or indeed avatars for little apparent reason!

because we can? I change my avi when I get sick of it................ I changed my id a few times to remove my name from it............

I was beginning to think some may do it and make it very similar so they or other posters can have a go at other posters when they don't notice and/or while they get out of the habit of using their former id lol

here, this might help

How is Campbell Newnan performing this week in Queensland?

EXPERTS have long warned that Brisbane city urgently needs a second Brisbane River rail crossing.

Without it, the CBD's sole north-south rail link, the Merivale Bridge could reach capacity as early as 2016 and passenger train services would suffer accordingly.

But despite years of planning and nearly $90 million spent developing a possible solution - an 18km long new rail line linking the northern and suburbs via a tunnel under the Brisbane River - we are still years away from a solution. In fact we've been going backwards.

The Newman Government has abandoned the Cross River Rail scheme developed by the previous Bligh administration after failing to strike an acceptable funding deal with the recently defeated federal Labor Government.

New Prime Minister Tony Abbott made it clear in Opposition that he had no plans, once in office, to support urban rail projects with federal money, which left Premier Campbell Newman with a serious question: how to solve the looming rail congestion problem at a price the State could afford.

He gave us a glimpse of his proposed answer on Tuesday - a new commuter tunnel linking the CBD to the south side of the river and including buses as well as trains.

Similar ideas have been floated in the past but Mr Newman says this latest concept, the Brisbane Underground, is in the final stages of planning and will cost "billions" of dollars less than Cross River Rail, which had an initial cost of $8 billion, before being trimmed back to about $4.5 billion.

He has provided few details other than to say work on the project would need to start "within the next few years"
