But when you put someone on ignore, it doesnt totally remove their thread and name from the main boards.

Instead of seeing the thread title you see 'You are currently ignoring the creator of this content' and you still see the persons name.

I would rather not see anything of them at all

Threads will be on CS in order of time posted on. If a person puts an ID on ignore that starts a lot of the type of threads they don't want to see, then there is probably no technical way of 'removing' them so the poster who has used the ignore function can't see the threads at all (show nothing).

I don't mind political discussion. I am a voter and I take an interest.I can't complain if I don't try to make my vote an informed vote. I want and need facts not just other people's opinions .That's what the news media is supposed to give us .I have a family member who's is intellectually vulnerable to believing scare tactics and propaganda .The danger of that that sort of selective promotion/demotion is real and could affect us all 'after' the election .

Yes, why is that?  I have been accused of the same and hardly ever read or respond to the majority those threads, let alone read & scrutinise ALL of them with the intent of reporting.
