Post 73, sorry, no, I'm not here 24/7 you must have the wrong poster. I am easy to spot though because only ever use the one ID.
I have a good easy solution, put me on ignore :^O
how refreshing to log in and not see a dozen new threads about the same things from the same posters 😄
Cue I am a swinging voter, I even voted for The Democrats once when I thought they had something to offer. They didn't 😞
I have already been swung in one direction with a little help from some of the posters on CS IYKWIM

Yeah, still around.....if they bag me for having a sense of humour and stating the obvious....I'll message one of you that I've been carried off and gagged...lmao.. Hey Deb....I agree..it's nice not to have elleventy million right wing spam threads...=...In cyber space, nobody hears you scream....
I've voted ALP all my life but that's because I've been involved in IR and civil rights for a very long time and that kind of road doesn't gel well with LNP's user pay philosophy.
The reality is, we'll always have people in our community who simply can't afford to 'pay', so they don't get to 'use'.....when that kind of mentality includes access to vital services like health, food, heating, light, housing, then it's gone way too far. Hence, I can't support a party who makes it harder on the most vulnerable in our community, while refusing to tax the obscenely rich for a share of OUR mining wealth.
In my view, part of the disillusionment for ALP voters is that this ALP Govt is no different to the LNP when it comes to demonising & punishing minorities and/or having absolutely no vision.
For instance, right throughout Rural Australia, the unemployment is growing and the poverty is growing along with it. (Oh & lets not forget the subsequent crime)
Still, (Instead of creating new industries and with them new jobs) This Govt proposes to sell more of Australia (this time to China) so they can become the Food Bowl of Asia?...on our turf?
Where is the intelligence in that? Our Farmers could take that opportunity and turn it into a National Boom the likes of which we haven't seen since the rape and pillage of our mineral sector......when did we stop being the clever country?
I'm seriously thinking of hurling my vote to the Greens just to skew the power base of the other two, and that would be the first time I've ever considered that. They seem to be the lesser of the three evils this time around....and though they don't have enough support to take Govt...they can at least serve to keep the rest of the barstools honest.
It's this type of discussion however, that we need to be having...not the usual right vs left dung fight. I'm over that.
BTW...morning all !!

maybe none of our farmers "want" to do it.
*shrugs*
Maybe none of "our farmers" think the effort expended is worthwhile for the outcomes returned.
Just a thought....
People choose at what level they are prepared to enter a market.

And it is all fine to say the Government should create new industries and/or opportunities, but just maybe, no one wants to work in them.
Look at the big picture - our world is evolving - people are leaving the hard lifestyle that life on the land offers and heading to the city for the more dependable jobs - jobs that a freak hailstorm or drought don't wipe out overnight after months and years of cultivation that sees all of their hard work simply wasted.
Life on the land (especially in the outback) is too hard and there are more and better opportunities emerging. Maybe not in time for this generation, but would you steer your child into one of the hardest industries to master when you knew there were options out there that have a better chance of securing them a dependable future?
Australia grew up on the sheep's back, but Australians simply don't want to ride the sheep any more. (generally speaking)
