That was a real eye opener.
the sermon was about giving to the church using some verse from the bible that i can't remember.
well anyway in a nut shell you are meant to give 10% regardless of how much you earn
so someone on minimum wage who happens to beleive has to struggle week in week out to satisfy the church

Yes, not so long ago on a thread - the 'bowel' was glued to the table.
Most uncomfortable.

Back to collection bowls in churches.....
mrgrizz - the money collected is used for maintaining church buildings, supporting missionaries (people from the area who are overseas as missionaries), funding for church youth groups, craft groups....

Well you may giggle - **bleep**.
Can you imagine = bowel + table.
Love this.
The 'bleep' in this was p.u.s.s.y.
Mods are touchy tonight.
What is wrong with the above.
Maybe I ask.

Seventh Day Adventist and Mormons used to have tithing - I don't know about now. The family next door when we were growing up couldn't manage because of that requirement so the wife had to get a job too - guess what! She had to pay 10% of her wages too.
I didn't know the Catholics did it?

Yep, Helen's right. Mick's have been doing it since the 50's
