As this thread has proved, a lot of people have ideas for themes but they may never get to see them used or, they'll have to wait a very long time to see them used because they'll either never win a challenge or have to wait a very long time to win one. I was just thinking it would be nice if everybody's ideas were kept on file, and once in a while an idea picked from that file at random (kind of like a lottery) and that theme idea used. Maybe on a second challenge thread in addition to the regular weekly challenge thread where the previous challenge winner has picked the theme.
Good idea or bad idea?

That sounds a bit too formalised (is that a word?) for me artful. Of course, there's nothing stopping anyone who wins saying I can't think what to pick, give me some ideas, just as has happened here.
Anyway, on to Today. I just tried to take a photo of the Christmas tree I put up TODAY but can't make it look right. I might have to wait until it gets dark.
Well, I just thought it might add some excitement to the challenges and allow for greater participation than just submiiting photos according to someone else's theme ideas all the time.
But the photo challenges seem to have been going along quite well so I guess if it ain't broke....etc, etc.

Interesting idea Artful.
You might be surprised at how many different people have won a challenge though.
Am*3 has a list I think, with previous themes and winners.
We could make a list of the themes suggested in this thread, and put it on the weekly winners thread so that person can choose from the list or choose their idea.

I like that idea Pimpy.
I remember the person who chose "building" had been waiting.. and that was a great theme.
Funny enough, I was crossing my fingers for a Rock theme just a couple of days before the winner picked it.
Maybe if somebody has won in the past, they would be willing to pass the theme to someone who has not been able to share their idea?

I'm not sure of the rules. If we must use our own pictures that we take ourselves, or can use those we find on the internet. I have a lot that I collected over the years and put into folders. Some that I have altered, modifyed. But not much in the way of those taken myself. I only ever took pictures of items i was selling on Craigslist and never saved many of those.
The erotica idea is a good one Bob, perhaps we can do that on the factor. If Zetaboards (the hosting site) don't mind, then it's ok by me. As for here, heres some ideas-
Nascar pictures
muscle car pictures
baby pictures
pets pictures
houses
tree
waterways rivers lakes oceans
road signs
zombie pictures
eating pictures- of friends stuffing their face lol
snow art, shapes made in the snow ice sculpures

The only thing is though, someone else will still always have control over the theme picked--even if they're choosing from a list of ideas submitted by others.
Whereas, once in a while choosing someone's idea at random, gives everyone a chance to be the "leader" so to speak and see their theme executed. The person whose idea was picked has already won even if not for their actual photo. Then there's another winner because the photos will still be voted on. The only difference is, they can't pick the next theme. That comes out of a hat again.
Anyway, like I said, it was just a suggestion.

Joanie, you must take the photos yourself. It's the one rule we really insist on.
Otherwise the thread could end up thousands of posts long.
