Idioms and our changing language

I'm not sure if idioms is the right word but you know how things become common speak?  It might be catch phrases.

Some really annoy me.  The one that is my first world problem (thanks Buzz) at the moment is 'on trend'.  What happened to trendy?

Another one is when the fashion industry changed a pair of pants to a pant.

They can be good though.  Otherwise we wouldn't have carp on CS instead of **bleep**.

Which are your least and most favourites.

twyngwyn, I think HR departments thrive on making up new catchphrases.

A Shout Out  (a public expression of gratitude or recognition) is one that will make the dictionary.

My journey.

Turns me right off the speaker straight away, can't be bothered listening to the story of their "journey." Just sounds so corny,...... And dumb.

I don't like that either Wicks and another one is 'closure'.  Everyone has to have closure these days.
