If you were Indonesian, what would you think about Australians?

and our Government?

If I try and put myself in their shoes I would probably think that  a lot of Australians are very wealthy, greedy and not terribly compassionate. Generally speaking of course.

Surely they must be in shock when they read about boat returns to their much much poorer country.

Are you suggesting that we forgo some of our lifgestyle to fund that of other countries?

That is a different issue, I would really just like to discuss what you would think if you were indonesian (about us and our government) I did say generally speaking (i think)

I think I did that, I was responding to your next questions (I thought)

I'll try again.

You asked me to compare apples with apples.

I don't understand

Of course I would want to live here - well I can't even say that as I have met many, who despite hardship still love their own country and want to stay/return there, if they could.

I think Australia is the most amazing place in the world, and I am grateful everyday that I was born here and get to live here.

I don't understand either, why France was mentioned.

Thanks for answering though

oh, just because that is where I would like to live if I couldn't live in Australia.

I think my point was that I have to follow their rules and laws to be able to live there, I couldn't just barge in and demand a free reign.

Donna, I don't think anyone can answer your question unless they are Indonesians.

One as to live in their country, and I mean long term. They live by other customs, laws and eccomics than ours. Read or hear all sorts of conflicting stories about Australia, before one can respond to your question.

Ask six Indonesians the same question, and you will get six different answers.

why are you hating on everyone?

No there isnt any hate and I am far from angry F*G

The thing that annoys me is the OP is more concerned about Indonesia and their rights  than her own country and our rights and  borders and security and does nothing but run Australia and Australians down and the OP  appears to favours Indonesia over Australia.

Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim-majority country, with 87 percent of its citizens identifying as Muslim and near on all of them think we are INFIDELS and have a care factor of Zero for us yet the op just keeps on banging on and on and on about them at the expense of her country and people.

The disloyality to her country is staggering in her posts

The fact the OP never sticks up for her country or our security is staggering or says a good/nice thing about Australia is even more staggering

The fact that the op just runs this country down all the time is staggering

Thats my only beef F*G

In the ops world and her distaste towards Australia and the Australian people and the Australian govt you should be allowed to do just that, barge in any way and by any means possible. Open borders and open slather

Hello, everyone. This discussion is getting a little heated. Could we please communicate with a more civil tone. Thanks!

Oh I wasn't talking about that either,  I wonder what they think when they read their papers about us, I know what I think.

Donna is not running down Australia, she is just criticizing politicians who get political advantage by demonising handful of unfortunate people seeking asylum here.  It started with Howard and Tampa, and children overboard invented story.  The ALP tried to be more human, but when that became political hot potato, went for even more cruel treatment of the asylum seekers.  And now TA is exceeding even that.

At least we are consistent in criticising both sides of politics equally.
