Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

WTH is wrong with people? Are they just so self absorbed that they dont think about other people or are they just plain rude?

In the last 4 months these are some of the rude people ive had to deal with

1. Woman likes to go for 6am walks up my street. She has her phone with headphones on. She holds the phone in front of her and yells into it the whole time she is walking. She is so loud she wakes all of my household up. I went out and asked her to stop. She now only does it on Sat and Sun mornings. How nice of her...NOT

2. Man likes to go for walks at 5:15am every weekday morning. No big deal apart from the fact that he bounces a basketball while walking. So at 5:15am on the dot we hear BOING....BOING....BOING....BOING. Hubby goes out and asks him to stop bouncing the ball and is told to "Bleep off. Its a free country"

3. Ive had to leave notes on 3 people cars who decide that rather than walk a small distance to the high school, they will just park across my driveway instead

4. Neighbours moved out of their house on the weekend. They must of decided that they didnt need the ugly metal drum that they used to keep their chook food in at their new house. So where do they leave it? On the grass area right out the front of my house. Hubby rolled it back down their driveway.

5. 9:30pm last night. Kids are in bed and hubby and I are watching Breaking Bad (great show) when all of a sudden we hear a loud motorbike noise outside. We wait a while so see if it goes away but it doesnt. We go take a look and a group of 4 adults have decided that 9:30pm would be a great time to take their mini, noisy as hell, motorbike for a ride on the tennis courts across the road from my house. I go over and say "Hey, i have kids trying to sleep in here." They respond with "So what?" I then say "I'll just go call the cops then." So they leave

I mean come on. WTH is wrong with these people?

"times are changing. not all people work 9 to 5.

with the exception of the motorcycle, you don't think they should be able to do everything that the rest of the population does."

Cmon, bouncing a basketball up a street at 5am is not necessary.

He wants to go for a walk at that time, fine, but theres no need to bounce the ball.

As for the woman on the phone. She wants to go for a walk eary morning, fine. She wants to talk on the phone while doing it, fine. But this woman holds the phone at least 30cm in front of her and yells into the phone. Not necessary

Does the rest of the population also leave their rubbish on others front lawns?

Do they also park across peoples driveways?

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

Lotsa people think that they have to yell into their mobile phones, wherever they are, on the street, in the bus, in a shop.  She sounds like one of them.

We have kerbside pick up this week, half my rubbish is gone today but some has been replaced by someone else's? Woman Surprised

I get annoyed that some guests and family members park in my driveway, not to 1 side behind my cars in the carport but directly in the middle!!!! so if I need to go out, they have to move it.

As for the basketball guy................. at bootcamp there are exercises that entail bouncing a ball or throwing a ball, to do with core strength I believe....... perhaps that is his?

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

i live across from a school. I have no issue with people stopping across my driveway to drop kids off or pick them up. I have even told all my daughters friends parents that they are welcome to pull right in the drive when they pick up their kids.

But the people i mentioned in my OP parked across my driveway while they went inside the school to do whatever they needed to do.

Thats just plain rude

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

I live in quiet dead end street where everybody has off street parking and it is not unusual to look down our street and there would not be one single car parked on the road.  Well, the other day I wanted to go somewhere and there was a car parked right across my driveway, no other car in sight.  I had to wait 20 minutes before this person returned.  I was really p****d off and told him off, but he could not understand why am I angry.  He said something like "but I was only few minutes"!!!?  He was not few minutes, but that is not the point.  WHY park across someone's driveway when there is space i front and behind............  i mean if he apologized, but he did not seem to understand why I am angry.  He was lucky, he came out when he did, I just took pictures and was going to email them to the council parking officer.  Cat Mad

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

Hook up a tow chain or snatch rope to it and tow it away from your driveway.

He won't do it a second time.

Then just deny it was you.

But I somehow think if you make enough noise setting it up he'd be out in a flash.

With of course a "slow" puncture from the nail he picked up parking across the driveway !!! LOL

I also live in a dead end street and everyone here is pretty good, even when one of the houses has a party,

it gets pretty squishy but you can still get home.

Remedy. Find out their landline phone numbers. Call them at 3am on a Sunday morning (not from your phone, use a phone box) and ask them if they like having their peace and quiet shattered.

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

I think it all just boils down to thoughtlessness, and total lack of empathy and consideration.  However sometimes people do not realise how loud they are.

Re: Inconsiderate or just plain rude?

Given these actions during 9am-5pm no one would even notice them. Noise always appears to be much louder even though it's not, between 10pm-5am

Don't we all get used to it? Sleep through what we become accustomed to? And children more so.
