FACT
1. Internet data flow speed is limited to the speed of the slowest link between source to destination, regardless of the transport medium used.
(Be that copper, optic fibre, wireless or even wet string)
MYTH
Propagation of signal using Optic Fibre is faster than propagation of signal using copper.
(Propagation in both mediums is 66% plus or minus 5% of the speed of light in a vacuum)

Try this one. The world is flat.
no, seriously it's not. Really! Knowledge changes.

Really does not matter anyway... no matter who gets in it is all going to have to change..
Good points made here...
Michael Reede, partner with Allen & Overy, and Justin Jameson, CEO for Venture Consulting, have told the parliamentary committee investigating the National Broadband Network (NBN) rollout that they believe that regardless of whether Labor or the Coalition win the September federal election, the NBN project is likely to change.
"Regardless of the outcome of the 2013 federal election, the form of the NBN would ultimately be driven to change as a result of inevitable economic pressures," they said in their submission to the joint parliamentary committee.
"We believe that broadband policy will need to be reset, because we remain sceptical of the projections contained in the current NBN business plan."

Seriously OP? Seriously?
1999? It was only a few years before that that we didn't even have the World Wide Web. Can you imagine that? In 1994 they were still trying to work out whether HTML would even be used in any great capacity.
And you produce an article from 13 years ago as your proof that fibre optics aren't any more useful than copper? Fibre optics weren't even made commercially available until after 1999.
Here's a hint - technology moves very F.A.S.T. Your proof needs to come from articles that are 15 minutes old, not 15 years.

Quigly sells NBN , is that a vested interest?
poor maths from me there, 14 years.
quigley sells his expertise, and donates his salary to charity.(he did in the first year at least) sounds more like a passion to me. curtis has a fiscal vested interest (thats if he's still with us, a lot can happen in 13-14 years)
