Is it just me

or has it become a prerequisite on TV advertising to find the women with the BIGGEST MOUTHS to feature in advertising?

It seems when you are happy, excited or just plain laughing, you have to open up half your head ??

Please watch a few ads before you comment - whenever a woman is featured in an advert - the head goes back and the mouth has to be opened to it's fullest possible extent??

Maybe this has always happened - maybe I am just starting to notice over the last few months.

I haven't noticed the wide mouth women in advertising.
I have noticed that in adverts featuring couples, the man can be ugly as all get out, half of them look like slobs, but the wife is almost immaculately dressed, good hair etc.

Well... I'm not touching this, because I know Stawka will be all over me 😉

Re: Is it just me

The advertising is working to some extent, in that we are talking about them.

The "annoyance factor" is grabbing the attention.  I detest the Spotlight ad due to the frantic voice, in  fact I change stations

The car ads motoring along some of the most beautiful scenic routes, often leave me without knowing which vehicle they are promoting. - except the Jeep ad.  But I'm a female non-buyer.

The "big mouths with teeth and tonsils" would be aimed towards the young male buyers? I just envy their happy carefree youth - and their teeth.

The "Youi" ads with the puny guy, aimed towards the "mother" who is in charge of insurance for the household?

Aami with Rhonda and the current "fancy dress party goers" again aimed towards women?

Lots of money being spent to grab ours.

Re: Is it just me

Only one I can recall that has a big mouth and teeth is Giada De Laurentiis, who has a cooking show on the food channel.  Not certain if my friends down under see this show (or receive this channel)  or not.

Sometimes I try and smile as big as she does and it makes my mouth and lips hurt.  😄 😄 😄

Also, while I'm on the subject of' cutting down someone' she pronounces some words very strangely.  For spaghetti, she says something like 'spa geeeee te'.  Never heard my Italian grandmother pronounce spaghetti that way.  LOL

I had to look her up D'. Funny she was born in Rome too....

I think I've seen her once or twice on the food channel.

Say "cheese" ?  A put-on smile if ever I saw one.

Sophia Loren had a big mouth too.   And Pretty Woman - Roberts.

It's like everything in the world today, they have to make things bigger, wider, louder, flashier, more shocking,

more drama flled even if pseudo drama of heightened tension to cut through the clutter and get the messge out.

I think she's a pretty gal, but I just don't know how she smiles that wide....you can see all the way to her back molars.  LOL

I think I'd try and make my head look smaller, not bigger.   God's going to strike me down for making fun of this beautiful gal. Smiley Surprised

Totally ignoring the advertising, some people copy and aim for that drama in their lives thinking that is what Life should be, unfortunately.
