Is it ok to swear in your workplace?

I was just reading (a particularly boring article) about swearing in the workplace and was wondering what was appropriate or not?

In my office we all swear like crazy and no word is off limits but never in front of clients and never at each other.  BUt everyone is young and creative and a little hyper so it kind of goes with the territory.

Is it OK?

Re: Is it ok to swear in your workplace?

i don't care if people swear except when it is every second word.  I swear sometimes but am aware of where and around who.  i used to work for the defence department and was the only woman in a freight terminal with a dozen men.  they used to apologise all the time for swearing in front of me but I used to hear far worse when driving with my sister, who funnily enough has now become a strict baptist and gets very upset about "cursing" when her friends are around but she still lets a few out when her we are out alone B-)

Such is life.

What about Fr Bob McGuire who by all accounts is a very spiritual man -

every second word or words he uses in interviews  are Jesus Christ and God, and they are

used as expletives.  I know he works with street people so maybe he feels

he is closer to them by not watching his Ps and Qs.

Me - when I worked in welfare with street people, yes we used to swear

when talking to them.  Their lives and language is raw and there wasn't much place

for welfare workers setting themselves above them.

Swearing only highlights a persons lack of vocabulary and creativity 🙂

We all know the swear words but some of us chose not to use them 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
