I posted a task on AIRTASKER today asking for someone to set up my email account on my computer.
I had a few offers BUT they all say they can do it REMOTELY.
As I'm not really familiar with this kind of procedure, I was wondering whether it's safe to allow someone to do it that way or is better to insist that they come to my apartment? Admittedly two of the three offerors have excellent ratings: one has nine pos ratings and one has three pos ratings.
I'm not exactly a tech-savvy user and at the moment I can only access my emails via Bigpond's webmail service. That's a pain as it means logging in every time etc. So I'm keen to get someone to set it up, so that I can just click a button like I used to do, and send or receive emails rather than going via webmail ea time.
I offered $40.
Thanks

sorry to bother you again guys, but just hit another snag!
I received an email with a pdf doc attachment, but I couldn't see the attachment, so I had to revert to webmail to access it (the pdf doc attachment)
received another email with an attachment. First had to download the attachment to the desktop before I could open it i.e. I couldn't open it directly from the email like I'm used to doing
any ideas?
thanks

Art, How did you go with my earlier advice- Did it work for you?
For the latest, try:
In Excel go to
File
click
Options
click
Trust Centre
click
Trust Centre Settings
click
Protected View
uncheck Enabled Protected View for files originating from the Internet
But I would never open any attachments sent in emails from addys I dont know. You could make yourself vulnerable to virus...
I would also reinstall Office..it will update to Win 10...

got it!
You're a star - would never have thought of looking there! Don't worry I NEVER open emails if I don't know the source of them. The one I was struggling with was from a stockbroker with a contract note so that was legit
and yes it all seems to be working ok , so do I really need to reinstall Office now?

No Art, you dont need to reinstall Office, I was just suggesting it because you might have the same difficulty with attachments in emails that are from Office..ie word, excel powerpoint etc.
See how you go..I would suggest giving feedback re Windows 10, but it seems a number of people have done this, after MS asked for it, and then their feedback and other users comments were deleted..
No point doing that.
No time to waste time...Have a good day!

Ps- my comment 'no time to waste time' was in regards to MS and giving them feedback..
not giving help or posting here

ok sorry to be a nuisance! Can you help me with this?
My sister sent me a dvd and I can't seem to be able to play it
I stuck it in the dvd drive of my comp: up popped a notification to say that it was the "E" drive and the name was "Paragliding 2015". It said I should "tap" to say what to do, but not sure what I'm supposed to tap! Then the notification just disappeared when I tried to open it
I cant seem to find the "E" drive on my comp and when I go to Win Media Player, can't find that dvd?
thanks for yr help!

Art, bad news..Windows 10 may be free, but you need to pay to use the DVD player.
The Media Centre is not included.
Apparently there was a lot, and I mean a lot, of feedback- read outrage- about this..so MS have said they will release an app, and said it would be at the end of the year...but I have no idea when this will be-
The 'tap' means pay.
However, you could download VLC.
Its free.
Eject your DVD first.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Then its just
Media click on Open Disc
Watch DVD
