I might be wrong but the way I understand it Dreyfus did not claim money for "taking his family to the snow". He claimed allowance for "night away from home", which is something all politicians who do not have permanent Canberra residence claim every time they spend night in Canberra. Why do you think that money was not repaid? Maybe that week he spent some nights in Canberra and others in Perisher and claimed for the wrong nights while not claiming for those that he actually should?

Get real, he has not paid the money back on his own admission and he did take his family to Perisher for a holiday at his own admission. Like others he has been caught but some here seem to think if labor members do it it's Ok but LNP, it's a NONO. They all do it and it should stop if it is not a legitimate trip for government business, you see I am not as one-eyed as some are on here, I see the faults on both sides.

Why didn't you take your own advise when the ALP was in government then?
What on earth would Australia be like if everytime someone didn't like the actions of the current government they had to leave? Not quite the democracy most of us prefer to live under. Or would you prefer that Australians didn't have any choice in who governs?
Why, because I love living here and will suffer under Labor and thrive under the LNP.
