The '57 is on the wish list.
Only Carrera make one.
$235 just for one.
It's cost $285 for four Scalextric cars and taken nearly a year to get them and I have to buy another two Scalextric cars to make an XY that looks like the one in the movie.
It alone requires two cars to get all the correct parts.
Then the biggest problem with the '57 is I'll have to hand build the twin carby and bug catcher unit that sticks out of the bonnet.
Convert it to right hand drive. Not as easy as the Challenger.
The Challenger thankfully has a seperate unit glued to the main dash with the instrument cluster and steering wheel combined.
The '57 has a high rake stance that's also a major headache to do with a slot car.
A static model would be easy but to retain a functional rear end is something that I still can't work out in my head ATM.
It's bad enough that I somehow have to create centreline racing wheels for the Challenger.
It's nearly as hard to customise a 1/32 scale car as a real one

That XY was a standard GTHO PH 3, shouldn't be too difficult to get a red model, yeah?

The 57 Chev was too cool, we all drooled over that, but my fav was the Challenger.

XY is relatively easy because Scalextric thankfully make a red XY GT road car.
Have to remove the black side stripes with some auto polish and a lot of elbow grease and replace them with gold ones that'll be Pattos decals.
Making a pair of 1/32 number plates GTH 351 is next
Then making a Scalextric figure over to look like the actor will be a challenge.
The Dodge Challenger is a recent release from Scalextric and that's what has inspired the project.
It comes in plain white and will require quite a lot of work but Patto does the fancy graphics and even though I'm not the best at painting models I should be able to do the all over black.
I'm good at the body work modifications.
I've been doing modifications of my slot cars for some years now.
Especially the Dodge Chargers to make the General Lee cars look correct

Most annoyingly the XY doesn't have the necessary twelve slot wheels.
I have to buy two Silver Fox XW's to get them wheels and they are silver not chrome and don't have hubcaps.
Have to make hubcaps and buy a Molotow chrome pen
