Is this carp normal ??

Hi all,

tonight I decided to pay the Community Spirit boards a visit for the first time ever.

I have found myself confronted with numerous religious threads.

Is this normal for the CS boards?

I would like to know because I have much better things to do with my time.

cheers

Where did I question modestbod's ID pepe?

I questioned his being new to this forum as he seemed to know the ropes. This has since been explained to my satisfaction, thank you.

I just think it's rude for a guest to come into a house and immediately criticise the furniture.

You have my sincerest apologies Icy, I did not intend to be rude or cause offence by 'criticizing the furniture'.

I simply held certain preconceptions of what Community Spirit might actually mean or be, and so what I initially found upon viewing the first few threads (posted by religious zealots and/or bigots) surprised me as it seemed entirely incongrous with my (obviously flawed) notion of what community spirit looked like.

I had simply wondered if perhaps I had misunderstood what the 'Spirit' in the title represented, as I had assumed it referred to something along the lines of goodwill toward others, as opposed to an inferrance to the Holy Trinity, so I was seeking some clarification in my OP.

After visiting those first few threads I just found the ambiguity somewhat confusing.

Fortunately though, you happened along and very quickly demonstrated to me that not everything in this forum suffers from such ambiguity. From you, what I saw was exactly what I got. Icy by name, icy by nature. So I thank you for your forthrightness.  Smiley Wink

Don't worry Icy, you have put me in my place and taught me an important lesson, in future I shall strive not to cause such offence either to you or any other plank of wood that I might find in this 'house'.

Just one point I would like to make though, I am no 'guest' in this house. Regardless of our respective post counts, I am a fee paying card carrying eBay member, this is as much my 'house' as it is yours... so scoot over & stop hogging the couch. Smiley Tongue

Modbod, there is a place on the couch that I vacated a while back, with some luck you might be able to squeeze your butt into the narrow space that I occupied 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

boris - Yes, upcycled sounds so much better.

mb: Be wary of being offered 'used' spaces on old couches.

No one is forcing you to stay, like it or lump it, no one is going to care either way.
