Bill Nye, America's 'Science Guy' demonstrates
Puts it into perspective for me.

I remember Morrison repeatedly saying that we didn't need to wear a mask when the virus first arrived. He added that WHO was providing the same advice. That sparked a lot of debate here. In hindsight I feel a bit foolish because it is so obvious that a face cover is safer than nothing. One doesn't have to be a genius to work that out. Perhaps we just like to debate and pretend we are know alls?

All I can say to that is...people can generally tell when you're smiling, even with a mask on up to your eyeballs...

I thought Bill Nye was a butt of jokes character in The Big Bang Theory.
Like Commander Sulu, Steve Wozniak, Stephen Hawking.
Are you saying they're real people?

Ummmm.......perhaps not Commander Sulu

You forgot Spock. He's real - and Sheldon has his DNA to prove it.

The WHO provided a lot of questionable "advice" that was proven wrong and they are supposed to be the top
"experts" on any pandemic so how was anyone else supposed to react when the "experts" got it wrong?
Remember they were the same organisation that initially said there was no need to close the borders to
overseas passengers as it was contained in China and look how that worked out.

The WHO has flip flopped on many occasions, destroying much of its credibility, they whitewashed the Chinese government's handling of the crisis resulting in their failure to contain the pandemic and subsequently damage to public health on a world wide scale.
Why would any person listen to any recommendations or advice that comes from them.
The "experts", they can't agree on anything, consider the differences in the PDing ( personal distancing) laws and recommendations between states and countries.
In the past 3 to 4 weeks it became mandatory for all workers, patients and visitors at the facility where I work to wear masks.
Some associates were concerned about the Government issued disposable masks as they had developed some slight sniffling, raising the possibility of it being the type of mask, and if they are breathing in some microscopic fibres.
Affected people have been changing to their own quality masks with sniffling ceasing or on the mend.
