We have a rc air cond in the lounge room and another one in the sunroom, great for the hot summer months but I just dont think it heats the house as well as solid fuel heating.

We use collected firewood in winter which reduces electrical costs... lpg gas stove.... but I run the air con all through the warmer

months that really jacks up the usage...(reverse cycle)..... thank goodness for the fireplace.... makes winter one of the cheaper bills.

If our bills will go down by about 7%, you would have to have $8000 per year bills to save $550.  It was just the usual Abbott bleep, and some people believed it ๐Ÿ˜ž

So Abbott's "logic" is, spend heaps on electricity and get five hundred odd bucks back, yep makes sense to me ..... NOT

We run the a/c's in summer but not all day and not every day, wood heater goes 24/7 in winter

i just came across this story that sort of explains what I was talking about further back in this thread about electricity in Vic, so I thought I'd post it here.

How did we get into such a mess??
