The United States sees Israel's announcement on Sunday of a land appropriation for possible settlement construction in the West Bank as "counterproductive" to peace efforts and urges the Israeli government to reverse the decision, a State Department official said.
Israel’s Civil Administration in the West Bank announced the takeover of 988 acres (3,799 dunams) belonging to five Palestinian villages between the Etzion settlement bloc and Jerusalem. The move clears the way for construction of a new settlement named Gvaot.
The announcement follows the cabinet’s decision last week to take over the land in response to the June kidnapping and killing of three teenage Jewish boys by Hamas militants in the area.

Yes, that is what they always do the moment the Palestinians look fulfil the myriad of conditions for negotiation Israel either comes up with new conditions, or make an announcement for a new settlement displacing more Palestinians form their land, making formation of Palestinian state less and less possible.

In 1948 when the State of Israel was formed the next day a combined invasion by Egypt, Jordan and Syria, together with expeditionary forces from Iraq, entered Palestine and ATTACKED Israel. Israel WON the war.
In 1967 Israel had to fight again. and they WON again.
Israel has WON every single war, they have NEVER lost.
Winner takes all as far as I'm concerned. If you lose a card game you can't collect the prize. Same here!

I'm sorry Ufo, but "appropriating" land is stealing, not winning.

Losers of war have no right to make a claim. That is the whole point of having a war in the first place and if you lose you lose.

a rather simplistic view.

But by that logic, since Israel lost its war against the Roman Empire in 135 AD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_wars s what gave it the right to make claims in 1947
