It's good to see you again, albeit in a rather attenuated and virtual sense. 😉
I think I know....
The fact that you're still here must mean that you live in hope that things will one day return to how they once were. Or something similar.

I don't think people have lost their spark. I think people left thinking that they couldn't possibly miss this place. One day you wake up and remember how stimulating this place could be. Unlike FB and Twitter where discussions usually take the form of one line comments.

Personally, I think the environment contributed to the stimulation. Twas kinda like living on a knife's edge not knowing who was going to get cut next and sent off to rehabilitation for a week or so. But Mum and Dad were less strict then, which allowed the kids to let their hair down, take the risk and have some fun.

Yes, you are probably right. I was more surprised when I was able to log on than when I wasn't. But not everyone was like me. That is, many people never received even one suspension (or it seemed that way anyway). And yet those people seem to be gone now as well. Myself and others always said if the board was to lose all its controversial posters everyone would be bored to tears. What's that old saying "hate the post not the poster". Maybe not quite but it will do. 😉

Yep, and I warned them too. Why make your world a little colder by getting people suspended?
Often the more offensive posters were the most interesting;at least they offered something to get your teeth into. 😉

That's good. There always used to be a lot of fighting here. Mostly politics.
