Just checking in and bumping the thread. I think everyone will come back around xmas. People always get sentimental at xmas. ๐

I have to ask, mlor. Why did you come back? I'm thrilled to see you here again, but I wonder what caused you to think of this place once more.
It's been so quiet here lately, it's possible that even if old posters do look in now and again, they see nothing going on and they wander off again.
Those posters who got their jollies by reporting other posters just killed this board. We warned them ad nauseam but they just couldn't wouldn't up their destructive practice and now the place is a veritable ghost town.
These days one needs to buy a thermomix and learn how to cook krispy kremes in it to feel right at home here. ๐

I have both posted and lurked during the past three years, though less of the former and more of the latter.
I lost a lot of enthusiasm for the place after some of the more interesting posters either left of their own accord or were driven off.
I'm here mainly for sentimental reasons. This board was my "firstie"; my introduction to internet discussion boards where I met some wonderful people and learned a lot about how to use a computer.
People change their i.d's occasionally and when that happens I often no longer recognise who they are, especially if they have been away for a while.
Sorry to read about your disillusionment in the (fair weather) friends dept. I think we've mostly all had friends like that at some time or other but it still hurts when the harsh reality strikes us in vulnerable and tender places, metaphorically speaking.

Well I'm keeping the light on.
