There are plenty of European wasps here. Have not been stung yet. It's nice that there are some native bees, too, and not just the wasps.
Perfume/no perfume doesn't seem to bother them, but then they have a whole garden full of real flowers 🙂

if a european wasp wants your cake/meat. let it have it and retreat inside.
they do not want flowers. they are not bees.

European wasps love soft drink, so watch leaving open cans around outside.
here they quite fancy the star jasmine.
Any perfume with star jasmine (lighter than the Indian variety) is lovely, too.

yeah sorry forgot that one.
no one in their right mind drinks from an open can in europe outside. you pour it into a glass.

Star jasmine and lily of the valley are often paired in a fragrance, they must complement each other 🙂

Just spent two weeks in Europe. Oh, yes, they do! A pub on every corner and a drinker here and there with an open coke can.
This is the Australian eBay board, so most of us live in Aussie conditions, too...with many an open can in wasp season 🙂
More polite from a glass, of course, but easier at picnics from a can I guess.
