I thoroughly agree with you, for once LL, and would use your "boring as bat *" comment as being applicable to the continually repeated statements in the signature area of posts, even though the so-called siggy might be(and is quite often)  more "interesting" than the post itself !

when folk don't agree with 'em, they mass-report to enlist the modbodbuddies to remove the dissentin' post, (like this one).   collusion/censorship manipulation.

It's not exactly a new tactic though Eloi & many have indulged in it over the years to bash other members into silence or submission.  Two in particular tend to use multiple ID's & most of us know who they are.

For my money, when it comes to *trolls* & *spammers* - "Ignorance is Bliss" (If you have them on ignore, they can't flame you now can they? = talking to themselves is all they're doing then)
