How do you know they're really there for refuge?

That is what I am saying,  Cat Frustrated IF they were there for refuge they would not have done it.

And seeing no-one's been identified, they're probably pretty confident that they won't be caught.

That is not true, several have been identified and charged, last time I heard any details it was said that "about 1/2 were of migrant background", but some were German and one American.  I am sure Germany has pretty good street surveillance cameras and it is only matter of time before more get caught.  The rfugee/migrant community will not protect them.  here is a letter from them to Angela Merkel:

Dear Chancellor Merkel

We are asylum seekers in Germany who have fled from war, terror, political persecution and sexual attacks (such as from Isil). Many of us have been through very dangerous experiences. We are pleased to have finally found shelter in Germany and are very thankful to the German people and its government.

In light of this we were appalled by what happened on NYE in Cologne and other towns nearby. We abhor the sexual assaults and petty thefts which took place and we denounce them.

We hold human dignity in as high regard as anyone else, be they man or woman. We also forbid any form of petty theft or burglary.

thanks.

from your link:

German authorities say that almost all of the New Year's Eve sex attackers have a "migrant background"

Nearly all of the men involve in Cologne's New Year's Eve sex attackswere migrants, Germany's interior ministry has indicated.

"Based on testimony from witnesses, the report from the Cologne police and descriptions by the federal police, it looks as if people with a migration background were almost exclusively responsible for the criminal acts," Ralf Jaeger, interior minister from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, said on Monday.

You are talking about the description of the attackers given to the police.  I was talking about the people already apprehended.

The men perpetrating the attacks were described as of "middle eastern origin".  Anybody with dark skin can look middle eastern.  The question is were they Syrian refugees, or were they people who have been born in Germany to maybe Turkish  parents?  But, the report that I heard on News said that so far only about 1/2 of those caught had Syrian passport (not sure if they were genuine) .

Middle Eastern origin does not mean recently arrived refugees; Germany has a large Turkish community.

Just like the terrorists who did the Paris bombing and others arrested because they were planning terrorist acts, were all born in Europe.  There was a Syrian passport found near one of them, but there was so far not an identity confirmation, as far as i know.

It will take a time before facts will come out.

What you are saying is that it is perfectly logical that young men that came from country that is being partially occupied by murderous ISIS and partially ruled by brutal dictator, as well as being bombed by the USA and Russia, would decided that the best thing to do is to organise coordinate crime wave, which will immediately end any chance of them being able to stay, despite the simple fact that they have nowhere to go and their whole future depends on being able to find country that would take them?

no, that is not what i am saying.

you are the one suggesting these

sex assaults were organised with the

full understanding of the consequences.

i am suggesting the opposite

In November, the Refugees Welcome organisation in the western city of Bonn was forced to apologise to attendees of a welcoming party after women were “molested, touched and harassed” by male refugees.

“Single men, who do not know how to behave, exist in every country and society as well as patriarchal structures which come to light through such behaviour,” the group wrote on its website.

“However, we do not want to deny that there are cultural differences. But instead of just adversely pointing fingers at those who misbehave, we believe it’s as important for everyone in our civil society to tackle these differences in the daily integration.”

and why are you focusing on syrian

refugees?  who said the attackers

were syrian?

according to the reports:

the overwhelming majority of perpetrators were identified of as being either Arab or North African, and said to be Muslim

so what makes you think they

came from syria ????

here you go super nova:

In a statement to parliament today, North Rhine-Westphalia interior minister Ralf Jäger revealed that although there were 1049 victims, the police had only identified 30 suspects.

He added that all the suspects were “North Africans”, 15 were officially asylum seekers and two were under the age of 18.

Two suspects are currently behind bars, both Algerians aged 26 and 22 who were allegedly in possession of stolen mobile phones when they were arrested.

Mr Jäger has been criticised for turning down a request by Cologne’s chief of police for extra officers to be deployed to the city centre on New Year’s Eve.

Women have fewer rights in the Middle East and North Africa than anywhere else in the world with the single exception of Afghanistan, and they’re abused far more often over there than anywhere in the West, but they aren’t routinely assaulted by hundreds of men in unruly mobs all at once anywhere except Egypt.

Many years ago in Cairo I struck up a conversation with an Australian woman at a restaurant who was traveling around on break from her job at the Ministry of Defense.

“This is the absolute worst place for a woman to travel alone,” she said
