We have a 4 yr old i30 Hyundai one of the remote control key cases has cracked and fallen apart mine looks like it's about to suffer the same fate.
We bought 2 cases on ebay replaced the gutz into one of the new cases and it won't kick the motor over will it need to be re-programmed?
TIA

There might be a small chip that needs to be put over to the new case.
When that chip is near the car it will start at ignition, sort of an anti theft device.
We did that Kopes but it won't turn the motor over, we transferred the innards over to the new case.

If you have the old case, try bringing that near the ignition when using the new case n key and if it starts, you know there is still something that is needed from the old. Perhaps it's not transferable.
It's often a seperate little piece that can look like a small piece of broken plastic and slots into a small groove inside the case.
And a Glaedelig Jul to you too tas. (very thoughtful of you)

I'm thinking it may not be transferable Kopes. I've written to Hyundai to complain about the quality of the cases you don't expect to need to replace keys after just 4yrs with only 50,000km on the car. It's an expensive item to replace $200 and then $50 to programme them x 2.

Master Freddie done the replacing I will ring him and see if he had any spare pieces

I made the mistake of vacuuming my pond out, with my Saab key in my pocket.............I disassembled it, used a hair dryer to dry it out, but no joy..........
Fortunately I had purchased a spare key the previous winter............but that's a spendy bath I took.
This is what one looks like..........

i wouldn't think so if you've transfered every component over in the new case
