Juicing - who does it?

I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired so I've decided to start juicing. I bought a Breville Juice Fountain online. It arrives next week.

Has anyone done this juicing thing before? How did you feel? Do you have a favourite recipe?

Juicing - who does it?

My mum bought me a juicer for christmas about 6 years ago, I haven't used it once. But I'm lazy that way, I'd rather just go buy it. I suppose if I had actually paid for it I would have used it a few times so I could justify the expense...

I did have a juicer but it broke (it lasted 20 years!). Many years ago I tried juicing for breakfast and I was amazed at how much energy I had after drinking a vege juice in the morning.

I have the Breville Juice fountain, Cat.  It's a great juicer and if you bought it new it will come with some recipes.

I really enjoyed using it but frankly I couldn't stand cleaning it every day so my little juicing journey didn't last very long.  I was even thinking of flogging it recently because it takes up so much space in the cupboard :^O

I think I used to like the apple and celery one the best.  Celery is supposed to be very good to combat fluid retention.

Beetroot juice they say can bring down your blood pressure (temporarily) quite quickly.

Just remember that fruit is high in sugar so consider the juice as part of your diet.  It takes a lot of apples to go in one glass of apple juice.

Hi joono

I've been reading up on juicing and they recommend 1 apple only and lots of vege's like carrots, kale, beets, cucumber and a 1/4 of a lemon as too much fruit isn't good sugar wise.

I bought the Breville based on reviews and price. So many people gave it good reviews.

I'm going to start gradually, having 1 juice for breakfast in the first week, then an extra juice for dinner and so on until I'm only having juice.

Well that's not a bad idea sticking to mainly vegetable juice.  Maybe I will hang on to mine and get into the spinach 😄

I've got to tell you though that some of the veggie juices certainly don't look too pretty.

I hope you don't mean you will only have juice.

Eventually .. but just for a week or two. I'll see how I feel.

you will get more nutritional value and fibre from eating the whole food rather than juicing it

Such is life.

I use a lot of Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Spinach, small piece of ginger, 1 apple for a sweetener

I don't put a lemon in I find it makes the veggie juice taste bitter.

I put more Carrot in then the other veggies makes it taste better.

You will find you have a lot more energy.

I hate cleaning the Breville and am looking around for a smaller juicer.

I find that the clear Plastic on the juicer has gone cloudy and I am not happy with that.
