Juicing - who does it?

I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired so I've decided to start juicing. I bought a Breville Juice Fountain online. It arrives next week.

Has anyone done this juicing thing before? How did you feel? Do you have a favourite recipe?

unfortunately, I use mine for naughty smoothies instead!  :8}

fruit, yughurt, milk....oh...*drool*

I found that juicing cucumber or/and celery  made the juice very strong. I would recommend only using very small portions of those two veggies when combining them with other ingredients.

I havent tried, but i have read that juicing beetroot is *grainy* ... so if you do it, can you please let us all know. 🙂

happy juicing 🙂

Juicing - who does it?

I can remember my sister going on a juice fast for a fortnight years ago.

Her skin broke out in spots, she was chronically constipated, her hair looked like string and the whites of her eyes were yellow , plus she was  always moaning that she was hungry.

She did lose 6kg in that fortnight but put it all back on in a couple of weeks when she was eating properly again.

I have a juicer and use it periodically but recently I was told that the only way to maximise the goodness of the fruit is to use a "cold press" juicing machine which does not bruise or pummel the fruit but squeezes it so the juice is just as good as it is if you just eat it.

apparently these juicers are more expensive but better.

Keep it nice, I might cry if you write anything upsetting (like not)

Fair point Joz 😉

I can't see what difference it would make to anyone if they drink their fruit and veggies instead of eating them as part of a well balanced standard diet.

Got me beat 😞

Just another fad thing as far as i can see.

As far as I can see taking your tucker in as juice is only for those who wannabe tube fed because they're too lazy to chew 😉

I had a couple or so weeks being fed through a tube up my nose after an accident years back and I ain't planning on going back to it again in any hurry :^O

I've got teeth and good working jaws so I'll stick to using the buggers while I can 😛

About the only time I feel tired is when I've been flat out like a lizard drinking working at something, or have had a bad night of kip or two.

These days I often wonder how i ever had time to work before I retired :^O

There sounds something wrong with that last bit somehow, but I think you'll get my general meaning 😉

I made lots of juices for my OH when he was being treated for hard palate cancer, I have a link to a great site on my home computer Catty, I will send it to you when I get back home.

There was a dietitian on the today show who claimed juicing wasn't as beneficial as actually eating fruit, the pulp is wasted in the juicing, and she claimed the pulp was the fibre we need.

Your OH is the only exception I can accept for neding to take their tucker as juice, but not for a healthy individual.
