Further to my question......
**Can you name a politician who DOES live in the real world?
None of them can experience the problems everyday Aussies experience, because they are NOT every day Aussies.
They don't have to search for jobs that aren't there, they don't have a super plan that is inadequate becase the average Aussie can't afford to contribute enough because they are too busy tryng to feed and clothe a family, they can retire after a few terms and be looked after for life, whereas the average Aussie now has to work until they drop.
It is a bloody farce, and no way can anyone drawing the income they draw even begin to undersnd what REAL LIFE is all about.
BTW - I did not say I thought Julie would make a good PM, I was just wondering if any one here had some substance to back up the claim that she would be useless other than a personal dislike of the woman.
** I am sure there are a few, but probably none in the LNP. How about Jacqui Lambie?
I don't think Julie would make a good PM, not because of any personal dislike.

@monman12 wrote:V3000 , my point, which I have made a few times before and which P007 ignores (inconvenient to the party line), is that within the legal system the cab-rank rule is the obligation of a barrister to accept any work in a field in which he/she professes competent to practise, at a court at which he normally appears, and at usual rates.
Bishop was a lawyer with Robinson Cox which became Clayton Utz , CSR, was a long-time Robinson Cox client, and as a result . Bishop, then Julie Gillon, became CSR's instructing solicitor.
I have asked (with little success) what P007 thinks of lawyers who have to represent murderers, rapists, paedophiles. No perceived grist for the ALP mill there though.
super nova responded wisely with:
You do not get get it do you. It is one thing to represent some unsavory people, people who have done terrible things, but totally other to object to a victim getting special treatment "just because they are
dying".

You are correct on both fronts Supanova, MM does not 'get it' at all and J Bishop did not 'have' to represent Hardie Group - she could have declined as is anyone's perogative. She took this 'plum' lawyers job to advance herself imo, with absolutely no conscience about the damage done to people by these swines/moguls at Hardie Group. As early as 1931 the effects of asbestos from Hardie Group products was investigated, documented and known to everyone-except the workers over the ensuing years and public whom were exposed.
Criminal behaviour imo and anyone representing these people are tarred with the same brush
As I write this I have a dear bro-in-law, on oxygen 24 hours......organ failure starting, mesothelioma in both lungs, liver......
I will be absolutely disgusted if Julie Bishop gets any support to become Australia's PM.
She has a grasp of most etiquettes and can pose for a camera and dresses well for a plane trip but I cannot see her putting Australian people before her ego.

My money is on Turnbull - I suspect there is a good reason why he is keeping such a low profile.

I don't have any money she-el LOL!.....well, maybe just enough for the occasional 'great' coffee
.... if I did have some money I might be tempted to back Malcolm Turnbull for a contentious 'place' .....
........ seeing their are no trophies for 2nd,3rd or 4th PM race result I can only say that I would not bother wasting any money for a 1st place. He is not regarded well by his fellow LNPers. He is not capable of focusing for any great length of time LOL, too money orientated for the sake of a bottom line. Great in business though.
Nope......they will be considering 'fresh blood' for this one.....untainted by exposure to the elements, unweathered, not aged by time fighting in the pit, covertly trained up in the sandy western outreaches and guided through a relatively easy to traverse but diverse political obstacle course.....surrounded by well versed blue ties of ye olde......someone who is an absolute wizard times thrice. No Muggles or Mud Bloods will make the grade this time 'round for the glory must carry the blue ties over the next election finish line
I'd put my suppository of wisdom depository of gold bullion on someone like a Christian Porter - if I had gold depository.
not rocket science.

Julie Bishop seems to be doing an exceptional job as foreign minister so it would seem silly to make her pm. Also why would she want to lay herself open to all the ghastly personal insults that Julia Gillard had to endure. I presume the posters that described Ms Bishop as dessicated and prunish are all oil paintings themselves.
on 04-02-2015 01:12 AM
LOL! Beryl .....for 'dessicated' to describe Julie Bishop ..... LOVE IT!!
.....as for me,I don't claim to be an oil painting, I have only described Julie Bishop as appearing dehydated and in a 'shell' to describe her frame and body mass.....because this is how she looks to me, using my powers of observation.
My powers are strong in this department Beryl-can you feel the Force too?
on 04-02-2015 01:22 AM
does it really matter how anyone looks so long as they are doing a good job, plus it only seems to be the women that cop it. Despite all the nasty personal remarks about Julia Gillard I never heard Kevin Rudd described as a runty 4 eyed weasel which in my "powers of observation" was what he resembled.
on 04-02-2015 01:28 AM
to be honest.....imo all these distractions and latest gaffes surrounding Abbott seem to be deliberately choreographed by the LNPers themselves, in a well versed and mechanised 'unfolding'......the media the tool being used to tell us in a carefully staged way how 'everyone has just discovered' how useless and incompetent our PM is-and Tones is playing the part for his Party! Anything to keep the Party going.......and for those who think this is just a Blue Tie Party....it's not. It's for Red Ties as well.......as a good poster pointed out before me (apols cannot remember who ment'd previously), this CONSPIRACY is really about The Purple Tie wearers.
They will appear to be at each others throats but behind the scenes they are 'one'.They will do this rubbish so that we, the voters get sick of the Red Ties, boot them out, then next election vote the Blue Ties in etc etc, election after election-hence the Purple Ties get to take turns ruling the roost and keeping command in the powerhouse.
Public/voters are having an awakening and are sick of the Bi-Partisan BS that we have had to contend with for sooooo long.
I guess we will see future Fed Govts doing single terms backwards and forwards for a bit more-and as long as these guy/gals can keep the charade-facade up they will be 'okay thanks maaaaate!'
Aussie voters, please wake up.
