For Qld, we have to check the list after 5pm the day before and it tells you when you are required to be there.

I used to get called up often. Eventually, I applied to be excused and my application was accepted. Hadn't heard anything for many years until recently.

I guess it depends on the type of case regarding their choice of juror they select.

There is a lot of wasted time........ you get sent back to the jury room while they discuss stuff they don't want you to hear. We got taken to the Hotel for lunch, pre ordered................ on judgement day, we ate in the jury room, lunch brought in.
The jusge told us at summing up that we were not to rely on our feelings about who was being honest or dishonest, only on the evidence presented...................... so if there is NO EVIDENCE, you must find him NOT guilty.
I struggled with this.

Oh az, that would be hard if there was no evidence, and yes you would have to find him not guilty based on that.
