Noticed here not that long ago - mention of a Weber - heavens gift to never cleaning the oven.
Please extoll the virtues of the 'Weber'.
Or just throwing out the oven.

You must live in a warmer spot than i do if you can use a weber most of the time, although I hear they are excellent.
My next oven is going to be pyrolytic, self cleaning. Oh bliss.
Plus I am seriously drooling over a thermomix, I went to a demo this afternoon. The woman cooked 6 different things, all with only one container, one steamer, one spatula/mixer. Virtually no washing up, even between courses. No chopping, no grating, no stirring, no kneading, no mixing, no beating, plus it cooks or cools.
I could get rid of my blender, my breadmaker, my mixer, my choppers, my icecream maker, my soup machine etc
My oven could get cobwebs.
Well.. I can dream.

That's the thing though. Mine is on the balcony, admittedly under the roofline, but I can still use it because it's not "open" bbq'ing.
I fire it up, get it to temp, pop the roast (or whatever) in, close the lid, go inside and off it goes. I keep an eye on the temp gauge from inside, and use a thermometer. Easy!
EDIT: I'm on the NSW Far South Coast.
I'm not game enough to go to a thermomix demo I'm not sure I'm ready to sell a kidney just yet

umm not sure about the mm's, but I can cook a big roast without any dramas. And I have done a chook, with the beer can up the bum trick, under the lid.
I must admit I do usually roast the veg in the oven though.

I use my Turbo for cooking chicken, prefer my oven for lamb, beef etc .... I also cook pies, sausage rolls etc in bulk, can fit heaps in there ..... Use the electric frypan for spuds, pumpkin, carrots find they crisp up better in it than the oven ... I can fit 2 baking dishes side by side in my oven, comes in handy at times
Tas we have a gas bbq but not a Webber

When you all are referring to "Weber" do you mean one like this?
Or can it mean one like this?
We use one like the bottom.............our old charcoal Weber rusted through many years ago.

I like the look of that little number Lurker.
Looks as though is has thermometer & all.
The BBQ I have is huge, old, and only fits in the open - rain kind of hampers cooking.
This would fit nicely under the covered area.
Ok - chuck the overn.
