Just how far...

...will thwarted unlawful entrants go in their statement fabrication attempts?

It appears that now navy personnel are accused of harming would-be queue jumpers.

What I find even more appalling is that there are some who attribute credibility to such claims.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The ABC is turning into a network of out and out LIARS who seem to hate Australia and our Military and is prepared to trash this country in its blinded support of Indonesia

How far will the LEFTIE ABC go in its quest to bite the hand that feeds it.

The sooner this govt puts a broom through the ABC the better

Scott Morrison attacks reports of asylum-seekers 'sledging' navy

IMMIGRATION Minister Scott Morrison says asylum-seeker claims of mistreatment at the hands of Australian naval personnel are baseless and has attacked the ABC for airing them.

The ABC has aired video footage showing asylum-seekers receiving medical treatment in Indonesia for burns they alleged were inflicted during a recent Australian navy turn-back operation.

Mr Morrison told radio 6PR that it was a "pretty poor effort'' by the ABC for airing what he said were the "unfounded, unsubstantiated, (and) outrageous'' claims.

He later told reporters: "Let me be very clear.

"The Australian government is not going to put up with people sledging the Australian navy with unsubstantiated claims when they have high levels of motivation for spinning stories in order to undermine this government's very successful border protection program and policy.

(So why does the ABC help these people to SLEDGE our navy and Govt)

"There is no substantiation to the sorts of allegations that have been made and publicised and put around. I think the mere publication of things that are clearly so unsubstantiated ... is very unfortunate.''

The government says it accepts defence assurances that naval personnel acted appropriately and there will be no formal investigation into the claims.

Mr Morrison said it was in the interests of people-smugglers and their clients to "fabricate' such claims, while the government was in "lock step'' with naval and Customs personnel and their actions on the water.  (and the ABC helps them)

The asylum-seekers claimed they had been subjected to mistreatment as they were taken back to Rote Island, in Indonesia's east.

The ABC said Indonesian police had to seek medical treatment for seven people with burns on their hands after the navy allegedly forced them to hold on to hot pipes on the boat's engine.

Acting Prime Minister Warren Truss said there would be no formal investigation into the claims.

"I regret the fact that one asylum-seeker seems to have been injured, but who knows what circumstances led to that injury?'' he said.

"We've received assurances that the defence forces have acted responsibly and I accept those assurances.''
