Don't normally watch 60 Minutes, but did tonight. How utterly disturbing was that "story" about the  "Baby Gammy "couple  ??

I hope the powers that be, keep an a very close eye on that whole case.  Something just doesn't gell ? 😞

I don't think the Aust. couple should have been given any airtime at all. Who is going to believe a convicted (twice) child molester ?
His victims certainly wouldn't want to catch sight of him on TV.

Their version of events in Thailand differs from the version from the surrogate mother and the now closed agency. As viewers/onlookers we don't know what actually happened.

I don't think 60mins achieved anything positive regarding finding out the truth about the boy left behind, so I can't see any point in airing the interview at all.

Tasf - what DNA should the twins have? One that matches the Aust man and his wife?

Are you suggesting that might not be the case here?

The surrogate mother is 21yo with 2 children? The eldest is about 7. She is single I think. Having two extra kids to feed and bring up may not be affordable for her.

I'm not suggesting anything am*3, only that, hopefully, when the tests are done, it will be a lot easier to have the right thing happen for the twins.

Either way, the little girl needs to be taken out of that home immediately in my opinion, right now.

No argument with that, and that's why I'd like there to be different options.  It's possible though, with the money already raised for Gammy that the surrogate mother could take care of both babies, I don't know.

I just wish the twins could be reunited in some way that lets them grow up together for as long as possible, and that the little boy can live a good life as much as possible with his sister.

It's going to be a waiting game, but no matter what, the little girl needs to be removed immediately I think.

The surrogate mother has stated that the Australian woman

  did not donate the eggs.

Who knows?   Maybe it wasn't his sperm either.

Stranger things have happened in surrogacy cases.

Just throwing it out there

AM They are given air time because shows like 60 mins know it will increase their ratings etc. If people didnt waste their time watching it, then this cpl would know get the air time they received, cuts both ways.  And NO I didn't watch it for that very reason.

Oh dear god, and that's the thing isn't it?  If the DNA does show that the twins are not related to that couple, what a dilemma for the babies themselves .... that would just leave the surrogate mother in the mix, what would happen to the children?

Perhaps the safest and most loving thing to do is have them adopted together by a loving family that can take care of them,  but in which country will be the big question.  I'm sure there are many wonderful people who would love to have them both to love.

I am fairly certain she has a husband. She talked about him earlier when she was relaying the details, that it would be IVF and no sleeping with the potential father, that was why her husband agreed.

But the supposed genetic mother is Asian not Australian.

I feel that nobody is telling the truth.  The surrogate kept the boy for 7 months before she did anything?  While the couple that commissioned this surrogacy looks totally untrustworthy, and change their story every minute, some of it sounds plausible.  And we do not know how selectively and accurately were their statements reported.

Like having to leave the country in hurry due to the unrest, and not taking the second baby if they were told he is going to die within days.  That would mean he would not be fit to fly.  But these things are easily verified; to take the children out of the country and bring them here, they would have had to have travel documents for them.  So, did they have papers for only one or both?

Another question is, would Australian authorities allow disabled child born o/s to come to Australia?
