LGTB in Christianity

Do you think it's possible to be LGTB and a Christian?

 What about other religions/faiths/beliefs?

Note: Please don't be nasty! Whatever your personal beliefs, I didn't start this thread so you could offend each other. Please be nice and try to be understanding. This is a public forum, anyone can read what is written here. Thanks!

Every argument brought out against why gays should not get married can also apply to why heterosexuals should get not married.

And as for the sexual disease argument....if some are so concerned about it, one would think they would want gays(as well as heterosexuals) to commit to one person only and not be promiscuous. If anything, it only serves to enhance the ssm argument.

That is if you agree that promiscuity increases the incidence of sexual diseases..

and

that the opinion that gay people being more promiscuous- because they are gay- would then all get married and commit to one person, and not be promiscuous, and sexual disease would also decrease...

It amazes me that someone with that level of logic is able to walk upright.

Promiscuity + unprotected sex = the spread of sexual disease.

It's easy enough to understand. Unfortunately people want to add sexual orientation in to the mix when it has no bearing on the formula.

Yes but we're talking about harmful effects, aren't we? So to say (in your statement), that homosexuality has "no harmful effect either on those who practice it or society as a whole"  is just wishful thinking at best and bullschitt at worst.

So, in your opinion, how is homeosexuality effecting you on a personal level....since you're part of the society you are saying it is harming? And how is it harmful to homosexuals themselves?

Sometimes I think the answer is staring me in the face.

Sometimes I think maybe it's just me reading something into the question.

I don't know.

Yes but we're talking about harmful effects, aren't we? So to say (in your statement), that homosexuality has "no harmful effect either on those who practice it or society as a whole"  is just wishful thinking at best and bullschitt at worst.

Every time I get behind the wheel of my car I am indulging in a practice that in 2013 killed almost as many of my fellow Australians (1193) as were diagnosed with HIV in that year (1236)

Should I infer from this that  driving a car  has a harmful effect both on those who practice it and on society as a whole? Or should I infer that driving a car carries a certain amount of risk - as do most human activities -  and that I should therefore drive  sensibly in order to minimise those risks?

To me personally? Not so much. But then I'm big and ugly enough to defend myself. Unlike this poor little guy:

And how is it harmful to homosexuals themselves?

Ah, you must have one of those modern cars with no room in the back window for a nodding dog.
