Given the direction the polls are headed, he couldn't be that stupid could he?

Re: Labor ahead in the polls

There's surely got to be some benefit to his stupidity, I hope.

So much for his promise of smaller government. It must only apply to govt departments that deal with the population, the plebs...and not himself. He has 54 staffers in his office, the highest number ever!

promised ?   Pyne is dispensing with some too  http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-11-25/gonski-funding3a-nsw-government-plans-to-fight-changes/5114880...                                                                                                                                                                                               The New South Wales Government says it will fight any changes to the "Gonski" school funding agreement it struck with federal Labor before the election.

NSW Education Minister Adrian Piccoli says the state has a "binding agreement" that must be honoured, and he will not agree to return to the previous "broken" model.

The Victorian Government has also released a statement saying before the election Tony Abbott promised all existing deals would remain in place if he became Prime Minister.

Re: Labor ahead in the polls

The Federal Coalition has confirmed it will keep the Government's Better Schools plan in place for the 2014 school year if it is elected.

The Coalition had been promising to repeal the legislation and reinstate the existing funding model if the majority of states and territories had not signed up to the so-called Gonski reforms.

But today Opposition Leader Tony Abbott backed away from that position.

"We are not going to add to the uncertainty, we're not going to undo done deals at the start of next year," Mr Abbott said.

Re: Labor ahead in the polls

Another tragic mis-step from these bumbling fools and crooks.  Their government (if you can laughingly call it that) has veered from calamity to calamity since they regretfully came to office.   Their carefully scripted media appearances, based on the "less is more" approach and their simple and patronising mantras ("Stop the Boats" anyone ?) beggars belief and only reinforces that they are totally unfit to govern.   A bigger void of front and back-bench talent we have never seen.   The front bench is like a roll-call of mediocrity .... starting at the "top" (lol) with Abbott himself, a lip-licking inarticulate caricature of a statesman; Hockey, a flat-out liar and jolly buffoon; Turnbull, a simpering over-privileged toady just waiting for his time to rise to the surface like slowly-congealing fat; Bishop, patently unsuited intellectually to such a demanding role (her behaviour with Kerry was cringeworthy); and the rest are just embarrassing - I can't name them, they are like an amorphous blob of old-school blandness.

Boats - FAIL.   International diplomacy - FAIL.  Media relationships - FAIL.  Stop the Waste - FAIL.  Fiscal incompetence - PASS.  Environmental vandalism - PASS.   Give to the rich and screw the poor - PASS.

JMK: "Are you confused in your misery and panic over the radical poll shift, mm? You're quoting me for someone else's post."
Sorry JMK, I mixed you up with your pink clone D9275.

So as you are poll orientated (when they suit you) JMK,  here is a past utterance of yours prior to Sept 2013: "JMK: " great news! Up, up and away!"

I would earnestly  "hope" that Abbott would imitate the circus duo of Rudd & Gillard (sans knife act),  fade away into oblivion,  and  be replaced by Turnbull.
